Story

Charlie House is a north east  based  charity which "engages in activities and projects to support children with complex disabilities and life limiting conditions."

That's a posh way of saying they look after dying kids and their families. Did you know that if you have/are a child needing hospice care in Aberdeen, there is NOWHERE in the North East it can be provided.

Already these guys

  • run a monthly Saturday Club
  • organise days out for siblings
  • organise short breaks
  • provide support and and information service

But the biggie is a HUGE capital project:- building a specialist care facility for this group of children and their families, here in Aberdeen.

Now, if that were not enough, you have me, running (and I use the word loosely) a half marathon. Honestly? I'm really struggling. I WOULD NOT sign up for this, if I had my time over again. I will never run another race, although I mean to try to keep up my fitness levels after it's all over.

I've set an ambitious target, but I have confidence in you lot. I'm sure you want to see me collapse. This is the way to make me do it.

And think about Charlie, when you're putting your hands in your pockets.

please. And thank you
