Story
Well, it’s finally over and what a great day it was. The atmosphere and support all round the course was fantastic. I now have a new personal best of 4 hours 14 minutes and 33 seconds – which I am very proud of. Lorcan also had an excellent day – completing the course in 2 hours 46 minutes and 14 seconds, which is a fabulous time for his very first marathon.
With the help of all of you we have raised over £1,500 for St Clare’s – an amazing amount. Many thanks for your wonderful support. Now I have to go and rest these aching bones a bit more…. Until the next time.
Best wishes to all,
Sheila & Lorcan
Lorcan and I are both running in the 2013 London Marathon. It is the first time we have run together (well, some distance apart) in a marathon and we are both excited by the prospect. I am running on behalf of a local charity, the St Clare Hospice which provides care for patients who have a palliative illness which may include cancer or any other life limiting illness such as Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s, MS and Dementia.
I hope that you will be able to donate something , no matter how small, to help this deserving charity and to spur me on on the long run around London.
Now off for my next training run as there is not long to go until the big day.
