Story
First of all, a big thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
Yes, it is official I have lost my marbles. In some insane moment of illogical thinking, I have decided to run the distance of 26 miles and 385 yards ( 42.195 km´s) in the Asics Greater Manchester Marathon in April 2018
... but it will be worth it as I am running the marathon for a charity organization. I am running for JDRF a leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
Every one of us probably knows at least one person in their personal environment which has got diabetes.
Type 1 diabetes can affect any person regardless of age and is a lifelong condition that has a large impact on life.
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes both children and adults suddenly. It has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. There is nothing you can do to prevent it.
And, at present, there is no cure.
But your kind donation can improve chances of preventing or curing diabetes, help provide vital services and support ongoing medical research.
Everyone who knows me knows that I am a passionate runner - but running 42 kilometers is something which I have never done before. But I will be absolutely giving my all for this run and will be running probably 150 miles in wind, rain, and snow over the next 3 month in order to prepare me for this torture.
Everyone who sponsors me is making a valuable contribution which I am very grateful
So please spare some pounds and give generously so we can reach the target of £550 together.
Lots of love (and blisters)
