In memory of Marie Jefferys

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

We are doing this walk in memory of Emma's grandmother, Marie
Jefferys. The Alzheimer's Society are there for anyone worried about or affected by dementia. They provide information and support, fund medical and social research, and campaign for better quality of life for people with dementia and greater understanding of the condition.

Our route starts to the north of Salisbury at Old Sarum and we walk past the  magnificent 13th-century cathedral, home of the tallest spire in the UK. We continue over water meadows, high ridges and quiet woodland, our paths following medieval trading routes much of the time. At our furthest point we enjoy fabulous views of Stonehenge, before circling south and tackling the undulating chalk ridges and quiet valleys back to Old Sarum.

It will be a great challange but now we have lost a lot of weight and Emma has tackled depression I think it would be a major achievement for both of us.
