Neither Raymond or I have ever participated in a charity event before but this one grabbed our interest.  It's for a great cause and most people know someone whose life has been touched by cancer.   My mum was diagnosed with cancer a couple of years ago but is now in remission and recently celebrated her 80th birthday with a trike tour round Stirling.  A number of Raymond's friends and colleagues have also suffered from this terrible disease.
