We fund disruptive dementia projects to make change happen in dementia care

Story

Margaret Sutherland, my lovely Grandma, passed away on Friday 14th July. We're raising funds through donations in her memory, for the Dementia Services Development Centre in Stirling.

DSDC work to improve the lives for people living with dementia through care and design, through making communities dementia-friendly and by influencing policy and services for people with dementia.

Over the last few years, Mum and I have benefited personally from the support of DSDC, through information and carer training events. We hope that by raising funds for this trust other families can benefit from the support as we did.

How fundraising can help:
• £10 could provide essential training materials for a volunteer working with people with dementia.
• £50 could provide ten copies of ‘Ten helpful hints for carers’ to families affected by dementia.
• £200 could enable two care home workers to be trained in how support people with dementia in a residential environment.
• £1,500 could provide training for a manager and eight front- line hospital staff to receive our award-winning Best Practice in Dementia Care training course.

Thank you.
