This will be my first marathon I’ve ever done so this could be interesting, time to get practising haha. 

 I am doing this as I work as a healthcare assistant on Talbot Butler Ward and the emergency assessment bay. I can’t wait for us to be able to have it on the ward as it will benefit the patients so much. Our current EAB is only open Monday to Friday 9-5 out of these hours the oncology and haematology patients will have to wait in a&e to be seen. So we will then be offering a 24/7 service for our patients. 

Working with oncology and haematology is such a rewarding job which I love, we see people at their worst and at their bests and we really do go through the journey with them. Seeing a patient with a smile on their face means the world to me and this is why I have chose to do something that I’m not great at doing and it will be a massive challenge but every penny I can raise from this will go towards the eab. 

I’ve recently already done 2 charity events for the EAB and currently planning a Charity quiz night with a colleague so this will be my 4th event to help raise money for a place I know makes a different.
