Shock Absorber Triathlon · 2 July 2011
I would like to dedicate my efforts to Jo Lapping, a family friend of over 20 years who passed away in May, aged only 41. She brought fun and laughter into our family.
This is my first and possibly my last triathlon! I decided that I had reached a time of my life when I needed to step outside of my comfort zone and complete a personal challenge. THIS IS IT. The Shock Absorber Triathlon on 2nd July. I am supported by my wonderful family and my friends. THANK YOU!!
Good news - I did I trial triathlon in the half term. Swimming in a warm indoor pool with a wet suit is certainly a trial!!!! Looking forward to the open swim experience - not.
OMG Going for my first open water swim tomorrow. Dreading it! I rescued a frog today from a friends' pool however I do not like swimming with them!!
WOW - I did it!! Didn't meet any frogs!! Had a fantastic morning with my wonderful team mates!!!!!
26/6/11 - Did another swim in a lake! I was attacked by the mighty weed monster!!! Very scary!! I think I am quite enjoying this challenge now. Also got some very funky 'go faster' sunglasses! Getting quite excited about Saturday. I am sure I will be a gibbering wreck when I get there.
30/6/11 Getting worried now!!!! I am absolutely bowled over by the support form all my friends and family. Thank you sooooooo much everyone - you have spurred me on!!!!
OMG I DID IT!!! It was such a fabulous day. Never felt anything quite like it. What a very wonderful team to be part of!!! I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the super supporters that were there on the day and in particular Sam, Debbie, Michelle and Linda. Thank you to my awesome family and I am very sorry that you got so burnt Doug. xxxx
