Sian's Hope 100

Sian Williams is raising money for Cancer Research Wales

Hope 100 · 24 April 2021

Cancer Research Wales funds cutting edge research in Wales into the early diagnosis, better treatment and preventatives of cancer. It's world leading, and it's local. We give hope to cancer patients and their families.

Story

Dear Friends,

On 24th April 2021, I will be attempting to run/walk 100km continuously from my home in Brecon to Llawr - Y- Glyn, a small village in Mid Wales, to (hopefully) raise money for Cancer Research Wales.

This route has been carefully plotted over lanes, heath-land, bridleways and tracks.

In October 2020, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a mastectomy shortly afterwards. The NHS care I have received has been superb, and I will be eternally grateful to everyone that has helped me on this journey. Following my surgery, I went back to
running and walking, and with the support of family and friends made an excellent recovery.  I feel my challenge is a small gesture to say ‘Thank you’ for all that care.

My son Tudor Rees is also going to run with me on this
challenge, and hopefully we will support one another to a successful finish! Nearest and dearest Rob Williams will be our marshal, providing food, water and general support throughout.

Cancer Research has done so much to improve cancer survival
outcomes and quality of life for those affected by cancer. Please help support this cause which can help benefit so many in our families and community.

Thank you! Sian x
