I love volunteering for Brighton and Hove Speak Out. Speak Out does a great job - and this year is its 25th birthday, so I am doing my one-and-only charity run this year for Speak Out.
Volunteering for Speak Out is incredibly rewarding; empowering adults with learning difficulties to be more in control of their lives, thus improving the quality of their lives, gives me a real sense of meaning and purpose, which is especially important to me now that I have retried
In a world where the well-being of adults with learning disabilities is threatened by ongoing reductions to services, empowering adults with learning difficulties to develop self-advocacy skills has never been more important.
I appreciate that many of my friends and colleagues are on low incomes. So I fully understand if you choose not to sponsor me this time.
