Story
In 2013 I spent 7 weeks working at St Francis Mission Hospital in Katete, Zambia. St Francis is a large hospital serving a rural population with very limited resources, but I got an incredible chance to deliver care to patients there, acting essentially as a junior doctor and it was without a doubt the most rewarding experience of my life. It was the one that opened my eyes to what being a doctor could bring to people's lives.
I committed to raising money for the hospital but due to problems last year I never managed to make this happen. Therefore I'm now running a 10k and would appreciate any sponsorship money you could give me! Any money will be donated directly to the hospital and spent in the most beneficial way.

I arranged my elective through Responsible Electives, a scheme created by Dundee Medical School to offer a more ethical 'fair trade' approach to medical electives. Partnerships are formed with host sites where students will be able to contribute effectively in a safe environment, and money is raised in order to ensure a beneficial outcome for the hospital.
