Jim, a gregarious and usually temperate figure, positively enjoyed the company of other people - an easily recognisable figure; Jim was universally liked and would often say the unsayable to illicit a laugh.
His Tuesday nights were saved for the Thatch pub in Poulton, enjoying the company of friends, a tradition adhered to for many years, he once said ’A pint and a laugh with your mates. What more do you need?'
But it was not the businessman, however successful he was that he will be remembered for. A larger than life character, it was a friend, father and husband that was his greatest triumph. Generous with his time and common sense advice, Jim was someone that could always be relied upon.
Taken from us tragically and far too soon, many will feel we have lost a dear, trusted and loyal friend.
There are more important things in life than being successful in business and Jim Broomhead was above all a great human being.
I feel honoured to have been part of Jim’s life, touched by his kindness he was a wonderful mentor to me and I will continue his legacy.
Born 22nd of November 1947 in Newton-Le-Willows, Jim leaves four children, Simon, Jane, Katie and Jacqueline and a loving wife Angela.
