After a successful Empire State 500 (turned out to be 550) I am back with another crazy cycling adventure!!

This time the adventure is a coast to coast in France, but not just any coast to coast this one goes through the Pyrenees - or should I say over the Pyrenees!

Le Tour de Rugby League Cares is a 500-mile (probably closer to 600 by the end) on-road cycle ride across France, starting on the Atlantic coast at Biarritz and finishing at the Mediterranean resort of Canet-en-Rousillon near Perpignan.

The route includes Biarritz, Pau, St Gaudens, Toulouse, Carcassonne and Perpignan.

Sounds lovely until you mention there are 3 graded Tour de France climbs along this route - tackling the 2 legendary climbs of Col du Tourmalet and Col d'Aspin in 2 days will be a challenge in itself!!

Expected elevation gain for the 6 days is a whopping 12,330m which is nearly double the summit of Mount Everest!

Like last year I will be starting my video diary and my regular updates as my training ramps up. Whilst I am on the ride my daily diary will be published the following day showing everyone what we got up to and the trauma we endured to finish each stage!

I really valued all of the support last year and in all honesty the people who sponsored me and kept sending me messages as I was riding was the only thing that got me over the line on a couple of the dark days!

This year will absolutely be no different, so please please give what you can and support me on this legendary journey!
