Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page

24 April 2016 is the date of the London Marathon and I will be running for St Michael’s Camberley and St Mark’s Wyke.  We worshipped at St Michael’s for over nine years and were active members of the community and involved in plans for the renewal of the church and the adjacenthall.  All three of our children did the 7 up course and took their first communion.  Since 2009 we have been attending St Mark’s when we are all at home and not involved in school or other events.

I have never done a marathon before – I did the Lisburn half-marathon in 2000 in Northern Ireland and my time was 1 hr 43.  I am not sure that I will be able to match that pace for 26 miles (42km) but I have put in for the Surrey half marathon which takes place in March.

I was very fortunate to get a place in the ballot for the London marathon last year as the success rate is only around 20% and it was the first time I applied.  However I got injured and had to defer my run from 2015 to this year. I have had a few other problems (possibly due to my age!) but I am determined to finish this year.

Please pray for me to be successful and I hope to raise a significant amount for both churches..
