London to Paris bike ride · 24 June 2010

Anna's Hope assists in the rehabilitation of children and young people who have suffered from a brain tumour or who have had brain surgery . It also will fund research into the causes , treatment and cure of childhood brain tumours

Story

London to Paris.............normally on Eurostar with a glass or three of Chablis! This time it'll be on my bike, wearing some dodgy lycra Big Daddy number with an extra padded girth. Hopefully all the early morning cycling to work, and turning up at friends and family lunches hot and sweaty will pay off!

I'm looking forward to it, but also slightly nervous about three days of car dodging on the English and French roads.

I'll be raising much needed funds for Anna's Hope charity. My Godson, Tom Whiteley, was recently diagnosed with a Medulloblastoma brain tumor, one of the most aggressive cancer tumors known. He is only weeks into cycles of aggressive chemo that will last many many months and is going to need a lot of support in the coming months.

The funds are used for research in the cure of children with brain tumours, and to improve the rehabilitation facilities and support available to those children who are hopefully cured.

If I have even half the fighting spirit that Tom has, I'll be fine. And I know I have two little guardian angels watching down on me to spur me on.

I want to raise as much money as possible to put a smile on Tom's face. I don't ask often but I'm relying on you friends and family to dig deep and help me out.

Big thanks,

Simon
