Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am supporting Walking With The Wounded (WWTW) by taking part in a (virtual) row totalling 35km over 7-days using a Concept2 Ergo Rowing machine during the period of #StayAtHome Coronavirus Restrictions.

In a Twitter Poll, the first 5km of the 35km challenge chose the Birmingham Canal's (61%) were chosen for my challenge ahead of the 33km across the English Channel (39%). So it is the West Midlands Riviera that I will (virtually) row first of all and starting on April 2020, therefore for a few hours Walking With The Wounded becomes Rowing With the Wounded. Each day thereafter I will pose 2 choices of where I will row next and some may not be the 'normal' place a row may take place!! See the Just Giving Page Updates for the choices you have made.

As background to WWTW and why I am helping them with this fundraiser is that I have been a beneficiary of their Head Start Programme and subsequently an Ambassador to the fantastic charity and I am always looking for different ways to raise money for them.

I am hoping that you can help raise the £695 to put a veteran suffering from PTSD and mental health issues through their Head Start Programme.

The very testing time that we are all in due to the Coronavirus health risks means that the vast majority of us are to #StayAtHome and that has severely impacted on ability of WWTW to fundraise with many of its major events having to be postponed.

The Covid19 should not and does not stop me or you from doing something to help WWTW support vulnerable veterans by doing something like paying a small donation or totally mad like a virtual row along the canals of Birmingham.

Thank you for reading this story and hopefully you can spare some money to support me and WWTW (aka RWTW for a few hours).
