I'm running a half marathon in a few weeks to raise some money for the Prisoners Education Trust. 

Prison can be a place of few opportunities and those available don't fit the needs of everyone. One thing that the Prisoners Education Trust does is provide access to a wider range of educational courses in prison than is normally available - not just to higher levels like Open University but a diverse range of vocational or self-improvement subjects. 

And for those who have to spend a long time inside, this can make all the difference in the world. Imagine spending a chunk of life without access to the internet or stimulating material to exercise your brain or make the chances of getting a job a little better?
