Plymouth branch offers confidential support to those in emotional distress, including those at risk of taking their own lives. With no national funding it costs about £30k each year to keep the branch running, enabling us to support the national network and to reach out to our local community.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have been fortunate enough to get a ballot place in this year's Virgin Money London Marathon in October, so I wanted to raise a few quid to support my local branch of the Samaritans.

This charity is of particular interest to me as my Mum volunteered there for over 17 years and I am aware just how important their service is to so many people.  Although it is my local branch, I know that they can receive calls from anywhere in the country.

I have been running (slowly) for just over 5 years and am a proud member of the Plymouth Musketeers Running Club. I run for my health & fitness but mainly because it helps me to deal with the stresses of everyday life.  Despite a multitude of injuries, I'm committed to undertaking the training and finishing this event.
