Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving Page.

Earlier this year, Bev's Uncle Jack passed away after a determined and valiant battle with Prostate Cancer. Regardless of how this cruel disease made him feel, he never let it get him down and was full of happiness and joy right to the end.

Whilst Bev & I only met for the first time 11 months ago, her Uncle was a well known character in the village where I live when I was growing up and whilst I hadn't seen him in many years, it was good to see him again prior to his passing.

In honour of this great man, who thought walking over Sharp Edge was a 'Stroll', we thought we'd do something a bit crazy ourselves and raise some money for a charity that was dear to him in the process.

We've both completed The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Walk previously, however that was at a time when we were both leaner and in better shape than we both are now.

We'll be walking 26 miles, ascending and descending more than 5000 feet, over Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside & Ingleborough on Saturday 3rd September 2016. This represents a significant challenge to even the fittest and most experienced of walkers.

We've set ourselves a personal fundraising target of £1000 to try and make a real difference to The Prostate Cancer Charity and the valuable work that they do.

If you are able to support us by sponsoring us for our upcoming endeavour, that would be deeply appreciated and would mean a lot to us both in our efforts to honour Uncle Jack.
