Story
On 25th August 2018 my wife Susannah and I along with our good friend Jane Whitten will be walking the South Coast Challenge. We are hoping to raise money for Renew Counselling, a small charity that gives great support to young people and adults.
Recently Joe Jenkins, an ex pupil of Susannah and I took his own life which had a profound impact on his family and others around them. Jane, a family friend of Joe, Susannah and I felt impelled to do something quite challenging to raise money in Joe’s memory for Renew Counselling, which had offered him support with his difficulties in the past.
We decided on the South Coast Challenge to highlight this cause and remember Joe along the way. We will be walking 50 kilometres from Eastbourne to Brighton, over the Seven Sisters along the South Downs Way. This promises to be a real challenge for all of us as our combined ailments will make it even tougher.
If you would like to support us in the challenge, we have set up a just giving page. This will help us to keep motivated in the weeks ahead with the training schedule that we have planned and it will mean a lot to the three of us to have your support and encouraging messages.
Jane has worked for Renew for the last 9 years and knows first hand the valuable work they do for vulnerable people!
Renew relies upon donations to keep their services going.
Wish us luck and thank you for your support.
