Story

Thanks for taking time to visit my fundraising page for the Huntington's Disease Association.

On May 23rd I will be attempting to run my first (and probably only) marathon in Edinburgh to raise money for the Huntington's Disease Association. The Huntington’s Disease Association (HDA) is a registered charity that exists to support families whose lives are affected by Huntington’s disease (HD), a progressive, degenerative neurological disorder. As you may know my husband, Mark, is suffering from HD. I hope you will be able to dig deep to help me reach my target of £6,500 for such a good cause.

There is now just over a week to go until the big day and training is finally over. I have become a regular sight on the ring road of Regent's Park but have also been lucky to train elsewhere, including the beautiful countryside around Burnley with my brother, Scott, for company and a treadmill in Marrakech with a stunning view of the Atlas Mountains. Our 1 week holiday in Italy became a fortnight due to the volcanic ash cloud, so I enjoyed lots of lovely runs in the countryside of Puglia and the daily pasta helped with the carbo-loading! I have four black toenails but nothing is going to stop me now. I will be just happy to make it around the course in Edinburgh in one piece.
