Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page - it really means a lot.  As some of you may already know, our son Arlo was born with a rare bleeding disorder known as Haemophilia. Coincidentally, April 17th (Simone's birthday) is World Haemophilia Day and so I can't think of anything better than to raise some awareness and hopefully funds to support the Haemophilia Society. 

The care we have received within the first four months of his life have been absolutely fantastic and I cannot thank the haematology doctors and nurses enough. We really feel that he will receive the best support, care and treatment available and are so grateful for this. 

In addition to the NHS, the Haemophilia Society are on hand with advice and support to us as a family and many others across the UK. Haemophilia is a rare bleeding disorder that prevents the blood from clotting; meaning that any minor injury becomes so much more concerning. It will also require ongoing treatment throughout his life. Over time this can cause various other complications, and of course, lots of anxiety for parents and carers. 

Arlo’s treatment will be life-changing for him and for us as a family. At the moment it feels really daunting as it’s all ahead of us but we have so much support from friends, family, the whole haematology team & of course the Haemophilia Society. I would really like to show some appreciation ❤️

My family have been actively involved in the society including my grandad who we sadly lost due to complications with treating the disease many years ago. Thankfully, treatments have progressed as a result of this and we are confident that Arlo will receive the best care available. Please don't buy me anything for my birthday this year, there really is nothing I need, I'd much rather a cause close to our hearts such as the Haemophilia society benefitted.
