Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in the Prudential Ride London on Sunday 29th July. It’s a 100 mile bike ride through London and the Surrey Hills. I’m neither the fitness or the weight I wanted to be to do this though I’m determined to give it my best shot and ride back into The Mall (even if it means being. diverted to the slightly shorter route) and try to raise some money for Hammersmith Hospital Renal unit to whom we are indebted. 

4 years ago, what started off as a virus, turned into a life threatening illness. Martyn became incredibly unwell and underwent intense treatment over a period of months (a heady combination of chemo, drugs and plasma and blood  transfusions).  Two things enabled us to get through this really tough time; the unwavering support of family, friends, neighbours and our Mums who took care of our 3 little ones (then aged 4 months, 2 and 4 years) and supplied a steady stream of meals and the world class medical team at Hammersmith hospital. We benefited from the amazing care and support of all the staff at Hammersmith hospital; from the brilliant Prof Pusey and Dr Tom Cairns who oversaw Mart’s treatment, all the dialysis nurses and the numerous Drs, nurses and support staff who cared for us, to Sister Nicola and the clinic team, and thankfully Martyn defied the odds and is in good health. 

We wouldn’t be enjoying the life we do today if it wasn’t for the amazing care Hammersmith hospital gave to us and so I.thought it only fitting to use my place to raise some funds for them. I know you can’t donate to every request so wanted to ask you to send good cycling vibes my way, keep your fingers crossed for a dry, cooler day on Sun 29th July and if you can sponsor me I will be incredibly grateful and I know Hammersmith hospital will be of any donation you can make.
