Story

Hello

I am running the Bath Half this year, 2019, for Friends of Young Carers.

A Young Carer is a young person who cares, unpaid, for a family member who has any type of illness, disability or addiction, and cannot manage without that Young Carers support.

As a Young Carer from the age of 8-18, I understand first hand how valuable the support from a charity like Friends of Young Carers truly is. Young Carers supported me emotionally, financially and allowed me to meet other Young Carers, so I no longer felt isolated and alone. I owe a huge portion of where I am today to the support of Young Carers.

Your donation could help fund:

- Young Carers festivals, where Young Carers could engage with one another in a fun environment. Which is particularly valuable when some children only get a break from their caring responsibilities when at school/college

- Materials for Art Projects

- Counselling

- Outings, such as Theatre Trips and Lazer Quest

And a multitude of other things, which may seem minor to some, but could mean the world to a Young Carer.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

About the charity

Young carers are children aged up to 18 who have caring responsibilities in their home. The person being cared for may have a physical or mental illness, a terminal illness, or have problems with alcohol or drug misuse. Help us give these young people a break from their challenging daily routines.
