Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I was diagnosed with grade 2 breast cancer on 31st August 2005 when my son Xander was just nine months old.

Being told you have cancer is devasting, you automatically fear the worst. But I'm living proof that it's not always bad news.

A week after my diagnosis,I had surgery to remove the lump in my left breast, along with a handful of lymph nodes. I was delighted to discover a few days later that my cancer hadn't spread.

My oncologist then recommended that I had six months of F.E.C chemotherapy followed by three weeks of daily radiotherapy & to take Tamoxifen for the next five years

I have now been cancer free for five years & six months & I've never felt better.

I wanted to give something back as I know that without all the research that's gone into cancer over the years my prognosis probably wouldn't have been as good! I'm just so grateful to be alive & well & to be able to see my beautiful little boy grow up!

To be able to do this 20 mile Ribbonwalk on the 11th June with some of my closest friends is going to be a fun way to raise money for a very worthwhile cause & I would be so,so grateful if you would sponsor me!

Many thanks,Siobhan.xx
