Story
The 20th May 2018 marks 10 years since our sister, cousin, daughter, niece and friend, Siobhan tragically passed away at the age of 21.
To do something a little different, a group of our family and friends are remembering Siobhan by running the Thames Run 5k or 10k on 20th May. Siobhan ran with the Wycombe Harriers as a teenager so there's no doubt that she'd approve - she definitely would have beaten the lot of us though!
Siobhan was a bright, caring, wonderfully talented and beautiful person, but unfortunately, she had her own share of difficulties like many young people. Siobhan always tried to help those in distress herself and for this reason, we're raising money for Mind (through the St James's Place Charitable Foundation). The mental health conversation is getting louder and it is incredible to see so many brave young people speaking out about their experiences, and we as a group of family and friends are keen to do our part in memory of Siobhan.
Anything you can give is really appreciated. The work that Mind does, both indirectly supporting individuals with mental health difficulties and in campaigning for change is so valuable and we hope that the money we raise can help them to provide support to more and more young people who are experiencing their own difficulties.
Entries for the race close on 14th May, and if reading this you think you'd like to contribute in a different way you are welcome to join us - the race website is www.thamesrun.co.uk
