Story

Hey guys, welcome to our fundraising page!

So in a moment of madness, Aimee, Odette and I have signed up to run 10km on 9th June to raise money for Macmillan.

As most of you know, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last July at the age of 25. It was crazy and unexpected and involved 16 rounds of chemo and a Stage 1 tumour that I was lucky to have found so early on. I’m all done with treatment now and in the clear (YESS!) so I’m starting to focus on building my fitness back up.

Through all of that, Macmillan have been fantastic. True to their motto, they swooped in right at the beginning and supported me throughout treatment. I wouldn’t have been able to benefit from their support had it not been for crazy people pulling crazy stunts all over the world to raise money and awareness for Macmillan. Now it’s our turn to do something for them so that they can continue to be a big green safety net for those who need it most.

10km might not seem like a lot, but it’s going to be a pretty big milestone. I’ve run with Odette in the past and I can truly say, she is not a runner. During the last race I ran with her, I lost her until the end of the race when I found her in the coffee shop we’d run past during the first 2km. Aimee’s a great runner but she’s under pressure because it would be really embarrassing if I beat her straight out of chemo. And as for myself, I haven’t run since September so I may have to be carried to the finish line (but I’ve got a pretty good get out of jail free card).

If you’d like to donate and guilt trip us into training, any amount would be hugely appreciated!

Thank you so much!
