Story
In June 2014, my friends Dave and Bex Pountney had their daughter Charlotte May. Sadly, Charlotte was born sleeping. In the time after that, they were helped immensely by the charity Towards Tomorrow Together. They received a memory box in hospital full of goodies to help build memories with their baby girl. They were also helped greatly by the support groups.
Dave and Bex have become more and more involved with the charity and have raised invaluable funds for them. They have been approached by 3 different hospitals that are in need of a cuddle cot. A cuddle cot (also known by the less friendly name of cold cot) enables parents to keep their baby with them much longer than they would be able to normally, this helps parents build precious memories with their precious baby.
So, here's where I come in. On 17th April 2016, I will be running the Brighton Marathon. This will be, without doubt, the hardest thing I have ever done. Over the coming weeks and months, I will be training harder than I ever have, pushing myself through wind, rain, sun (OK, that last one is unlikely in glorious Kidderminster) and I want all of this effort to mean something. I aim to finish in less than 4 hours, but far more than that, I would like to raise funds for such a small and deserving charity that helped my friends and many others at a time of unimaginable loss.
I will aim to keep everyone up to date with how I am doing, give updates on the work of the charity and most importantly work my backside off.
I will appreciate every single penny that someone gives to support such a worthwhile cause, it will mean a lot to me but it will mean even more to the people who sadly need to use the services this charity provides.
Thank you for reading this and donating, you're all lovely people...
