My name is Soman. I am a law student and i have decided to volunteer with voluntary services overseas (VSO) to improve the quality of the lives and their future in the developing countries. 

I will be moving to Kenya for 3 months working on reducing poverty through education based projects with VSO while spreading awareness on the importance of education. 

At my placement, i have chosen to work on the educational projects as I believe education is the only way out of poverty and this is the next generation of Kenya we are talking about. These children who experience hunger more often than a full stomach could be the potential leaders of tomorrow, raising Kenya. The children of Kenya in rural areas are deprived of their education and are crucially affected by poverty. This is where VSO and its volunteers like myself come in, working together to fight against poverty with the projects that are carefully put in place by professional team coordinators of VSO.

I am raising £800 for VSO which has been running since 1958 and has successfully grown over 60 countries with long-lasting results. VSO is the world’s leading independent international development organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries.
