Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.

In 2015 I challenged myself to run 10 marathons in 10 days for Brathay Trust's work with young people. I completed the Brathay 10in10 in May and raised funds to support community and residential work with young people across the north of England. The challenge of running 10 marathons over consecutive days, and spending time at Brathay Hall, allowed me to see first-hand the fantastic work carried out by Brathay. At the end of the 2015 event I knew I would be back to do this again!

This time round, as well as the challenge of running, I'm motivated by helping young people in my own community of Barrow-in-Furness.

I was born in Barrow, have lived here all my life and now work with many of the town's schools and other community groups. I understand that, for some young people, growing up in Barrow and getting on in life can be really difficult.

The Furness ‘Get Real’ programme helps young people who are disillusioned with opportunities in their community and are struggling to move forwards. Sessions in the community and residentials at Brathay Hall provide the inspiration to secure employment or to return to education or training.

Please help me to help our local young people. Thank you.
