I'm hiking 100km in March in order to support the Hike for Her campaign and raise money for Plan International Ireland, an organisation that do great things to protect women and girls in vulnerable communities around the world and have a particular emphasis on keeping girls in education and allowing them to have access to resources they need to thrive. Not only is this an important human rights issue, but David Attenborough has stated that one major way to reduce climate change is to reduce the birth rate in developing countries and we can help this cause by supporting charities which actively work to keep girls in education for longer. Improved access to education for girls has been proven to reduce birth rates in developing countries.
