Hi, my name is Esme, and I am nearly 9. I am running the Mini Mile to help raise money for a charity called Whoopsadaisy, which helps children with cerebral palsy and other things. The reason why I have chosen this charity is for my friend Chip. He has Cerebral Palsy and, when he was born, he was told he wouldn’t be able to walk or have any sort of independent life. But this wasn't true because he is now also doing the mini mile. Furthermore, Chip is an amazing friend to have. He works very hard at school and is very kind and funny. I am so proud of Chip for running the mini mile even though it will be exhausting for him and for everything he has achieved. For example, at my fairy party we made a wish and he wished he could run, now he can run on the trampoline and now he can also run the mini mile, which is a huge leap for Chip and shows how determined he is to help Whoopsadaisy and other children like himself.                                                                     

Whoopsadaisy is friendly charity based in Preston Park supporting children with disabilities for over a decade. Whoopsadaisy use a combination of physio techniques and, through rhythm and repetition, support children to make the most of the abilities they have in all areas of daily life. Whoopsadaisy has given Chip mobility, confidence and independence - all things we never thought he’d have. He has a level of confidence and determination that is extraordinary. We have no doubt that these invaluable skills that Whoopsadaisy has nurtured will take Chip to extraordinary places. The charity is wholly dependent on donations to run their service and anything you can give in support is much appreciated.
