Every day in the UK 1,100 people will hear the words ‘you have cancer’, but 40% of cancer cases are preventable. While society continues searching for a cure, we are investing millions into our prevention & survival work, helping people live healthier, free from the devastating effects of cancer.

Story

Unfortunately, everyone knows someone who has been deeply affected by cancer in one way or another. Many of these people show unbelievable bravery, determination and courage. They are an inspiration to us all but we need to do more to stop people from falling ill in the first place.

I want to run this marathon to honour all those people, including my aunt Yvonne Dialdas and my grandma, Eileen Capewell.

I would be extremely grateful for any donations, which will go straight towards the World Cancer Research Fund. They do fantastic work researching cancer to understand risk factors and prevent more people from being affected by these awful diseases. Since 1990, they have funded more than £90 million worth of research and were the first organisation that identified the link between diet and cancer- now a widely accepted fact.

If you would like to me run this race with a particular person in mind, please let me know. I will running with all their names written on my arms and kits for all 26.2 miles!

Thank you xxxxx
