Humankind Virtual Recovery Walk · 1 September 2020

Humankind has been supporting some of the most vulnerable & socially excluded people across England. We offer a unique range of services to help people access the opportunities in life most of us take for granted. Our United for Fair Chances Fundraising Fortnight takes place between 2nd &16th July

Story

Over the month of September, my team and I are competing in Humankind's Virtual Recovery Walk challenge and have set ourselves the target of walking the equivalent of the journey from our Head Office in Bowburn to our Regional London office, with a stop off for a quick breather at our team's office in Manchester - a total of 289 miles!

We've called ourselves Team Slow Patrol which is unfair to my fit-as-a-fiddle teammates, however as those who know me can testify it's a very apt name for me! Please support my post-lockdown legs full of crisps to walk as far and as often as I possibly can to help us achieve our goal.

All funds raised will go towards Humankind's Service User Fund which supports so many of our clients every year to purchase essential items (e.g. clothes for interviews, school uniforms, essential furniture, wellbeing activities) for themselves and their families to ensure they have a fair chance at living fulfilling lives. Anything you can donate would be so greatly appreciated.

With every step of our walk, we want to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our service users who are working towards achieving or sustaining their recovery - the strength you show every day in overcoming your obstacles and making a difference to yourself and your loved ones is inspiring.
