Story

Hello and a mahoosive welcome to my Justgiving fundraising page. You may, or may not, already know that I am running the London marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support next April 2013. Not only is this an opportunity for me to tick something off my bucket list and get a buff beach bod for next summer, but also an opportunity to support a fantastic charity.

It has already become very apparent that training for the marathon is far more than a jog around the block. However, you will all be pleased to know that I have set myself up for success and have already kitted myself out like a pro. I've bought a new pair of trainers, a wrist wallet, an ipod arm band and a high-vis vest. So, may the training begin...!!

Running a whopping 26.2miles/42.2km means I’m going to have to hammer the streets of Nottingham 4 or 5 times a week, tame my hectic lifestyle and from January 2nd onwards, give up boozing!  I'm not going to let anything get in the way of me crossing the finish line... there are just too many people who wouldn’t let me live it down.

Running for a cancer charity means a lot to both me and my family. My dad passed away when I was younger and various friends and close family have also battled cancer over the years. My family are just one in millions who have lost loved ones to this disease, but the support from organisations such as Macmillan proves invaluable. Macmillan provides practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care.

So here is where I need your help. I have pledged to raise £2,000 by April, so whether you donate £1, £10 or even £100, every little bit makes all the difference and will get me one step closer to my target.

Ready...Set...GOOO...get donating!!

Thanks,

Sophie xxxx

p.s: if you fancy a day out full of motivational cheering and clapping, then pop April 21st 2013 in your diary. Any support on the race day would be very much appreciated!
