Hi my name is Sophie and I am 27 years old, I was first diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in May 2017.
I became extremely unwell again last year while suffering from a flare up and was rushed back to the hospital where I spent 16 days. More testing was carried out and I was told I have acute severe Ulcerative Colitis. I am currently in remission thanks to a cocktail of medication that includes, Mesalazine, Azathiaprine and Infliximab.
I have learned so much since my diagnosis and I am extremely grateful for the kindness of people. My wonderful boyfriend along with family, friends and the NHS have kept me smiling and not forgetting my amazing IBD support group.
I hope you can join me in my journey to raise awareness about Crohns & Colitis so more research can be carried out to hopefully find a cure for this invisible illness.
One thing I know is I am not alone and everyone going through this invisible illness is a warrior!
Your illness does not define you
Your strength & courage does 💕💪
