I've never been a runner, and never thought I wanted to be a runner. Yet here I am, counting down the days til' the Cancer Research 'Winter' Run... eek! 🏃‍♀️

It turns out that I quite like running actually! I've been giving it a good go, and have decided to raise money for The Lewy Body society along the way.

In 2013, Andre was diagnosed with Dementia with Lewy bodies. 

DLB is the second most common cause of dementia in older people, affecting approximately 130,000 individuals in the UK together and their carers and relatives. It is sometimes also referred to as Lewy body disease or Lewy body dementia.

I had the pleasure of living with Andre and his wife, Tracy for a year. I love spending time with them both. Andre is a wonderful human being, and spent many years as a professional musician, he’s got a heart of gold, and he’s just brilliant in every way. But every day, DLB takes away his ability to do some of the things we all most likely take for granted. 

I'd really love to raise as much money as possible for such a brilliant charity and do Andre proud. One day, I’d like to live in a world where this horrible disease doesn’t exist.

The Lewy Body Society works to influence policy and the development of services to ensure that people like Andre, who are affected by Lewy Body dementia, get the best possible treatment, care and support.
