I am writing for your support. I decided to raise some money for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) as they do a fantastic job. Our friends' young daughter has spent a lot of her life in and out of GOSH because she has a very rare metabolic condition.
I did it! Irritatingly close to 2 hours. My official time was 2 hours and, wait for it...... 29 seconds. I am really happy with my time since in July I did a 10km run in 1 hour and 2 minutes. So, an improvement. I really enjoyed the day and actually couldn't believe how big the event was.
I loved running through London: on Westminster bridge, along the Embankment and up the Mall. After about 6 miles I started thinking "London Marathon? Hmm?"
By miles 10 and 11 I swiftly changed my mind. I felt like I had put in a lot of effort the second half of the run in order to increase my pace. All in all, I am really glad I did it and it is a fantastic memory.
P.S Thank you all so, so much for all your very generous donations. Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital will really appreciate it. It has also been great hearing from friends I haven't been in touch with for years. You are all lovely!
Love,
