Charity Walk for Peace 2018 · 29 April 2018 to 31 December 2018 ·

Charity Walk for Peace is now Beacon of Peace and aims to relieve suffering and serve mankind regardless of colour, creed or race. By bringing people together to help others it works to promote peace, engender greater understanding and promote goodwill amongst people from all walks of life.

Story

We're coming together as staff at Sperry Marine alongside staff and volunteers at the London charity Hestia to raise money for people in our local area who have gone through abuse and hardship that most of us will be lucky enough never to experience.

Whether £1 or £1,000, any donation you can make will help us to support people in crisis in south-west London including:

- Women and children who have escaped domestic abuse and are living in refuges run by Hestia as they rebuild their mental and physical health and are supported to move on positively with their lives.

- Women and men who have escaped from modern slavery.  Most of the victims in south-west London are very young women who have been freed from sexual exploitation, 1 in 4 of whom come to Hestia pregnant or with young babies.  Hestia provides safehouses for them and support to rebuild their lives

- Men and women recovering from mental health conditions are given treatment and friendship by Hestia volunteers and staff in order to recover and lead a happier life.

There is more detail on all Hestia's services at www.hestia.org .  Less than 1% of donations received by Hestia go towards fundraising costs so you can be guaranteed that the money you donate goes towards supporting those in need.

If you donate, JustGiving will give you a tick box option inviting you to receive further information from CharityWalkForPeace/Hestia, PLEASE tick this box, Hestia will not spam your inbox.  It's just so they can invite you to events, send you details on volunteering opportunities and email you their newsletter so you can learn how your donation today has helped those in need.

Thank you from Sperry Marine, Hestia and most importantly thank you on behalf of all the people you'll be supporting with your donation.
