Story

For some years now I have wanted to give something back, to date my family and I have been very fortunate with our health, we have escaped the many curved balls that life has the habit of throwing. I have a very dear friend who’s daughter has suffered with Willian’s Syndrome her entire life, a development disorder that effects many parts of the body. This condition is characterised by intellectual disability or learning problems, unique personality characteristics, distinctive facial features, and heart and blood vessel (cardiovascular) problems, it’s hard to watch, there is little that can be done, one can only hope that the person trapped inside is content. A while ago, two mates and I decided to take on this challenge. On the 29th of April we are attempting to cycling from Lands End to John o Groats, we are only recreational cyclists who have never cycled more than 40 miles at any one time!

The training has begun !

About the charity

The Williams Syndrome Foundation was formed in 1980 and is run by parents for parents of children with this rare condition which causes heart and kidney problems and learning difficulties. It desperately needs funds to finance its ambitious research and family support programmes which include national conventions and regional meetings.
