Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

10 years ago a cricketing colleague of mine, Johnny Hodge, died suddenly from Leukaemia. He was 20 years old, and played his last game of cricket two weeks before he died. Since then, to remember him and raise money for Leukaemia Research, my colleagues and I at Mirfield CC have run events.

I have 3 sporting passions, none of which I'm very good at, but which I've tried hard at over the years. I wondered if it would be possible to play all three sports on the same day, and the idea of the Sport Billy Triathlon was born.

On Sunday June 3rd this year, I and a growing group of friends/cricketing mates/idiots will attempt the following challenge:

1: 18 holes Golf Competition

2: A 5-a-side football tournament

3: A 6-a-side cricket tournament

All on the same day, starting at about 6 am, and finishing about 7/8 pm.

The aim is to raise as much money as we can for Leukaemia, settle those arguments we've been having for years about who is the best all round sportsman (clearly I think that's me, and I had to go to the length of arranging this tournament to prove it..) and remember Johnny on the 10th anniversary of his death.

To make sure our wives/partners/girlfriends and boyfriends don't miss out, we're having a WAG day at Mirfield CC (venue of the football and cricket tournaments) to occupy them while we have our fun.

I hope you can help us achieve our aim by sponsoring me.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
