Story

I - Squash Squared Introduction

"To increase participation and ensure children from all backgrounds get to discover our sport"

Squash Squared is the UK's first squash and education program for deserving children.  The initiative works with children from deprived areas of South London, focusing on improving classroom achievement and learning a new sporting skill (squash).

Every week, students are escorted from their school to a nearby squash club, where they receive an hour of squash coaching combined with private tutoring, helping them with the topics they struggle with the most.   The tutoring helps grow confidence in the classroom, which drives better academic achievement.

During their squash session, the children are given the opportunity to have fun on the court through coaching and games, and also to engage in competitive matches against one another.  This provides for improved fitness and great outlet exposure to the great game of squash.

At the completion of the Squash Squared session's, the children return home well fed and well exercised, and also have their homework completed and are fully prepared for the next school day.

II - Squash Squared Cup - December 8, 2018

The Squash Squared Cup, set for Saturday December 8, is our primary annual fundraiser and our main source of revenue.  It is an exhibition team event with six teams of six players, each comprising a selected child from our schools.

Each team is captained by a trustee from the charity, and every player will be raising money for their team.

The event offers a wonderful opportunity for you to support socially and economically disadvantaged children in London and given them a chance to enter the world of squash.

Your donation helps provide more than 100 children from four schools with a years worth of free after school care, tutoring tuition, meals, and squash lessons, as well as the all-around pastoral support they need throughout their education.  All the money raised by the fundraiser goes to the charity.
