Sleep Out for Simon · 6 October 2017 ·

Galway Simon was set up in 1979 by volunteers who refused to accept homelessness on the streets of Galway. With the support of the wider community, we have grown, learned and adapted over the years to become a leading provider of homeless and homelessness prevention services in the region.

Story

Last year Galway Simon Community became one of St. Anthony's & Claddagh Credit Union's "Community Partners" where the credit union made a commitment to donate and support the charity for the following 5 years. This along with the visible and alarming increase in the number of people who are homeless in Galway city recently, really resonated with the staff of the credit union. A number of staff wanted to help raise funds and create awareness for the charity so this sleep out became the perfect opportunity.

On Friday, October 6th a number of staff will sleep outside the credit union on Mainguard St. Please make a donation large or small and help us to raise some much needed funds for Galway Simon Community who will then help people who are homeless or at the risk of homelessness in our local community.
