Bridges to Africa · 20 May 2012

PEAS is a UK charity which aims to make a sustainable, long-term difference to the lives of African children. It does this through the foundation and development of low-fee secondary schools, helping vocation centred secondary education become available to a greater number of young Africans.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

This will be the 7th time St. Marylebone students have taken part in 'Bridges to Africa'. We take part every year because we admire the fantastic work PEAS are doing, building secondary schools in Uganda, and we want to help them keep up this great work.

It's easy for us to take our education for granted but in Uganda only 1 in 4 children get a secondary school education due to a severe shortage of school places. We know what a difference our education will make to our futures and we want to help more young people in Uganda have more opportunities like us. So far PEAS have set up 14 schools and are currently educating 4,500 students through these schools. We want to help them expand these schools and build even more.
