Resolution Run Leeds 2019 · 24 March 2019 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

In 2017 after a heartbreaking battle we sadly said goodbye to our amazing Grandad, Bill Baines, after he suffered a severe stroke in the New Year. In 2018 our Grandma, Pam Baines, also suffered a stroke and she is currently fighting to regain her speech and mobility.

Not only for Grandma Baines, who continues to fight today, but for all those who we have lost to strokes and the survivors living with the effects, we will be running (or hobbling in my case!) 15km in their memory, to celebrate their journeys and hopefully raise a few pennies along the way.

Strokes are a cruel attack on a person, often affecting the way people move, feel and communicate, so we will be sticking 2 fingers up to strokes on our way round, sharing the stories of loved ones and survivors to support a fantastic charity there to support the victims and families battling strokes today.

From all of us in the Baines clan in advance, thank you for any support you can give, every penny counts! 🏃‍♀️ 🏁 🏃‍♂️ xx
