Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know, I spent a formative year abroad at the University of Kent in 1986/1987.
I feel that this experience has helped mold me into the individual I am today and on the strength of this experience have been volunteering for the University of Kent in America (UKA) community.
Besides building strong alum communities in North America, our central goal is to sponsor Fulbright Scholars from the US who otherwise would not have the chance to engage cross-cultural experiences and develop their international leadership potential.
Previous scholars have included Shannon Laribo from South Carolina who's conducting race and ethnicity research from an international perspective (https://blogs.kent.ac.uk/development/2017/01/23/meet-shannon-laribo-2016-uka-kent-fulbright-scholar/); Lashawn Ford, who's working on criminal justice questions; and Rebecca Monteleone who does research in the disabilities arena. More information on the scholars can be found here: https://www.kent.ac.uk/alumni/groups/UKA/fulbright/index.html
None of these scholars could've studied abroad without the assistance of UKA's Fulbright Scholarship.
I am asking you today to support me in funding these extraordinary young scholars--my minimum goal is to raise $3,000, which represents 1/6 of the cost of one scholarship. Any amount is appreciated and will go directly to the recipient's academic experience at the University of Kent.
I thank you in advance for fostering international understanding--more crucial than ever--and budding scholarship.
Stefan
