Story

Facing my biggest physical and mental challenge to date, running the London Marathon in 2018, to honour my beautiful friend Susie Birch, gone too soon at age 42, forever loved and forever missed by so many. Susie was one of my dearest friends, biggest cheerleaders and my inspiration. She encouraged me to start running and there is no way I would be doing this if it wasn't for her.

Running also for my very dear childhood and lifelong friend's lovely mum, Xenia Klanga, a wonderful, special lady and auntie, my godfather Zacharias, cousin Koulli and beautiful Fabian Burke-Georgiou, gone at only 8 years old, all taken by this awful disease.

All the training to come, the fundraising and the day itself is dedicated to you all and all those left behind and missing you so much.

I am fundraising for Tenovus Cance Care,  a leading UK cancer charity, running for 50 years and recognised for their pioneering work and research.

I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations xx

About Tenovus
The Tenovus scientists developed the use of Tamoxifen, now used worldwide to treat breast cancer, and Zoladex which treats prostate cancer.

Alongside their ground-breaking research, they have developed a system of cancer support services to help cancer patients and their families, when they need it most, including a free Support Line (0808 808 1010), which is open 8am - 8pm, 365 days a year.

In 2009, they developed further innovations to the support they offer cancer patients and their families with their Mobile Support Unit.

In 2011, they conducted research into the benefits of singing for cancer patients and their families. The results of that study were so positive that they applied for funding to set up more choirs. They were awarded a £1m Big Lottery Grant to set up 16 Sing with Us choirs across the UK.
