Stella's Climbing Snowdon

Climbing Snowdon · 7 May 2024
Hello!
So as most of you will know, last summer my life took an unexpected turn for the worse and after many weeks in hospital I was found to have a tumour in my bile ducts. It was with thanks to the amazing team at The Royal Surrey HPB team that the tumor was removed by the remarkable Professor Karanjia.
Their Cancer Nurse specialist, Helen Griffith, has been the most astounding support and felt like my guardian angel when I could not see friends or family due to Covid restrictions. She continues to be my point of contact and has truly helped me keep sane throughout this ordeal.
After a year of recuperating from the major surgery and then chemotherapy after the tumor was unfortunately found to be cancerous, I am now back on my feet.
Whilst I doubt my life will ever be the same and I will live with the fear of recurrence, I feel unbelievably lucky and I would be so grateful if you would help me give back to those that kept me here and to help those who don’t have as much luck on their side.
I have lost a friend to this silent killer and the rise of cholangiocarcinoma is worryingly rapid.
So anyway, next month I hope to climb Snowdon to raise money and give back. (I wanted to do Micchu Pacchu but maybe next time). Considering this time last year I was being pushed around in a wheelchair, it would be a great achievement.
Please dig deep.
I hate money and especially asking for it, but this really will make a difference and I for one will be so grateful that all of this misery was not in vain.
Love you
