Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have gained a ballot place on the London Marathon after several attempts (not sure why as I am not even that keen on running!) This is my first and potentially only marathon!  The many many hours of training thus far has not been without injury and self-doubt and has been an immense personal challenge.  I did not gain the place through a charity but thought it would be a bonus if I could raise a little money for a very good cause.  The school where I work has supported Walk 4 Water for a number of years.  Walk 4 Water is now an annual event in which local Primary Schools from Whitstable, Herne Bay and Canterbury take part by walking 6km carrying 6lts of water in a back pack in support of Children in developing countries that do this every day for their families but in doing so often miss out on school. This year the sponsorship raised will go to a Water and Sanitation project in Malawi the aim being that the villages then own, develop, maintain and expand the project themselves making it truly sustainable.  This will also free the children to attend school.  Further information about the current project and previous ones can be found on the charity website.  I won’t be carrying water whilst running, but even so it would be fantastic if you could make a donation to this cause.

Thank you! J
