Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. The three of us have decided to run the 2018 London Marathon (none of us are natural athletes and are more likely to be found in the bars and pubs of London then pounding the pavement!). We will be running in memory of Lovely Lynn, who was mother to Rozzi & Max, and Auntie to Steph.

Three years ago Lynn excitedly entered the ballot to run the London Marathon as it was a goal of hers to run a marathon. Unfortunately she never got to run as she was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease a few months later, and sadly passed away in June 2017. We have decided to run the London Marathon on Lynn's behalf and in her memory.

We will be raising money for St Catherine's Hospice in Crawley.  During the final few months of Lynn's life, St Catherine's Hospice and their incredible staff looked after Lynn with the kind superhuman care and affection that is difficult to comprehend.  Not only that, but her whole family was offered incredible support and we will be forever indebted to St Catherine's.

St Catherine’s vision is for a world where everyone facing death and bereavement can do so informed, supported and pain free. They provide comfort and peace for people in West Sussex and East Surrey when they need support the most, and rely on donations to be able to maintain this level of care. All donations to our page will ensure that St. Catherine's are able to continue caring for loved ones in the same way they cared for our loved one when life comes the full circle.

Running a marathon is a huge challenge for all of three of us, but the knowledge that we are running for Lynn and raising money for St Catherine's will be more than enough motivation to carry us through the 26.2 miles.

Thank you for reading our story and we are so grateful for any donation you are able to give, no donation is too small.
